Weyburn Beavers and Parrish & HeimbeckerParrish & Heimbecker
team up to deliver the
“Giving Back to Schools” program
The boys of summer will soon be back in Weyburn eager to play ball. This year, the Weyburn Beavers of the WMBL are excited to announce that Parrish & Heimbecker will be the official sponsor of our in-school “Giving Back” program for the K-9 schools in Weyburn. The purpose and the goal of the program is to share knowledge about the game and the skills of baseball with the students. The program also provides an opportunity to share the players’ cultural experiences and to build a positive, successful relationship within the community.

The Beavers, through their sponsorship with Parrish & Heimbecker, are also thrilled to host two school nights to celebrate the schools, the students, and the players’ who participate in the program. The first school night is on Tuesday, June 24th, and the second on Thursday, June 26th. In each of the two nights, we are planning to give away two tablets – one tablet for a student and the other tablet for the school that the winning student attends. So, as the season nears, the Beavers will be gearing up to build on last season’s successes and continue building on “Giving Back to Schools.”

Beavers Sign Assistant Coach
The Weyburn Beavers ball club is pleased to announce that, after turning in a stellar 2013 with the Beavers and leading the team in BA (.329) RBI (38) HR (7), Chris Manning will be returning as an Assistant Coach for the 2014 season.

As a player Chris brought passion, dedication, and knowledge of the game each and every day; these qualities will certainly be an asset as a coach. Chris is currently finishing his degree at Doane College as well as helping Coach their junior varsity team.
With Phil Curtis returning for his second season as Head Coach and primarily looking after the pitching staff, we needed a person that could work the position players and complement Coach Curtis. With two former Beaver players Curtis and Manning leading the team as Coaches, our organization is extremely excited about the 2014 season. With the player roster getting close to being filled, our team is certainly looking to make a statement around the league that the Beavers are now in a position to compete each and every game against all the teams in the league.

The Beavers first game and home opener is on May 30. Season tickets and mini packs are now available from Beaver executive; I urge fans to get their tickets and come out for what should be a great summer of WMBL baseball in Weyburn.
