Beavers Player Signings
AThe Weyburn Beaver are happy to announce
the signing of 5 new players for the 2010 season. The
Weyburn Beavers organization welcomes these young men
to the team and anticipates that they will all play
roles in a successful summer.
Chance Hill, a RHP/OF, from Dodge City CC joins teammate
TJ Milspaugh, who signed with the beaver in the fall.
Chance is expected to contribute both quality play in
the field and at the plate, along with being a member
of the pitching staff. The 6'3", 195 lb freshman
hails from Gresham, Oregon.
Chris Norquay and Pearce McDonald, both Juniors at Bluefield
State University in West Virginia join the Beavers this
year. Chris and Pearce were also teammates at Williston
State College in Williston, ND where they were both
All Conference players. Pearce McDonald comes in with
very impressive stats as a LHP. Chris Norquay is another
guy who could help out in multiple roles for the Beavers
as an OF and RHP. Both Pearce and Chris come to the
Beavers from Manitoba to be reunited with former teammates
from Williston.
The Beavers are also pleased to announce the signings
of, RHP, Dillon Yeaman and, SS, Austen Colt from Neosho
Community College in Chanute, KS. Both Dillon and Austen
are Freshman and originate from Oklahoma, the home state
of both Coach Wichert and Coach Smith. The assistant
coach and recruiting coordinator at Neosho, Cole Gordon,
stated that both players are going to be big time players
for them and are expected to contribute heavily from
the start of the season. Beaver Head Coach Terry Smith
commented, "You are sometimes hesitant to take
Freshman, but as I have known Coach Gordon for a long
time and have full confidence in his evaluation and
recommendation I feel very confident in the abilities
of both Austen and Dillon."
The Weyburn Beaver again would like to welcome these
young men into the organization and look forward to
them being a part of the Weyburn Beavers for the summer
of 2010.
